Your day. Your city.

Discover places that fit into your day or change it. Some are right around the corner. Others you’ll only find over time. Some you’ll visit again and again.

A full dose of culture.

Mannheim is a major cultural city—but without the usual stress. It offers culture on a grand scale, yet within a compact area where everything is within easy reach. And it’s based on the belief that culture isn’t just something to be consumed, but something we create together.

A typical day in Mannheim? Maybe an exhibition is opening at the Kunsthalle, a superstar is performing at the SAP Arena, the National Theater is celebrating a premiere, a performance is kicking off at a backyard gallery, a street artist is creating a mural live on a building facade, and bands and DJs are creating unforgettable moments at the city’s clubs.

What's on the agenda?

There’s always something going on in Mannheim. Major events and smaller gatherings take turns. Sometimes on stage, sometimes right in the heart of the city.

You can find even more events in the Visit Mannheim event calendar.

The night is yours.

The best days are often the nights. The Jungbusch harbor district, in particular, is lined with bars and pubs. In the “Quadrate,” you’ll find some of Mannheim’s true club classics.

Here, you’ll always find what’s going on.

Rausgegangen

Two rivers and a lot more greenery.

A morning run or an after-work picnic by the water? The Rhine or the Neckar? The choice is yours. Or you can just head out into nature—to the woods, parks, or lakes. You’ll be outside before you know it.

The stereotype of Mannheim as an industrial city persists. Sure, there’s a strong industrial presence here. But there’s also plenty of green space, offering ample room for relaxation and leisure. Nearly one-third of the city consists of nature reserves and protected landscapes. In terms of green space per resident, Mannheim ranks second among the major cities in Baden-Württemberg.

Sports, just the way you like them.

Play it or watch it? In Mannheim, you can do both.

At the SAP Arena, you can cheer on the ice hockey and handball teams. Or you can get active yourself—in one of the many clubs or through open activities. At the same time, Mannheim is home to top-level sports: More than 20 Bundesliga teams call this city home. At MTG, top athletes train and celebrate international successes. And at SV Waldhof, the games at Carl-Benz-Stadion are about more than just the game itself.
