Essity has its largest European production facility in Mannheim. The integrated plant covers the entire production process for tissue products—from pulp production using wood and wheat straw to the final manufacturing stage. Among other things, it produces products under the Zewa and Tempo brands. A straw pulp facility has been in operation since 2021; starting in 2025, a modern flue gas cleaning system will significantly reduce emissions.
